Accutane

Accutane is a powerful oral retinoid that is clinically proven to improve the breakouts caused by moderate to severe cystic and nodular acne. This medication works by preventing the skin’s sebaceous glands from producing sebum, the source of clogged pores and inflammation.

Moderate to severe cystic and nodular acne is a painful condition that, left untreated, can leave noticeable scars, both physical and emotional. If other over-the-counter treatments and antibiotics improved your symptoms, your dermatologist may prescribe Accutane.

Mohs Surgery

If you receive a skin cancer diagnosis, your dermatologist is likely to recommend Mohs surgery. This highly effective and precise procedure allows your dermatologist to remove cancerous cells in the affected area while preserving as much of healthy skin as possible.

The patient is anesthetized during the procedure but remains awake and alert throughout. This outpatient procedure has a very high success rate at treating basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma, the most commonly diagnosed forms of skin cancer.

Skin Cancer Screenings

With early detection and treatment, skin cancer can usually be resolved in just a few visits. Your yearly skin cancer screening is a simple and painless physical exam that allows your dermatologist to note and investigate potential signs of skin cancer as soon as possible.

It is advisable to schedule a skin cancer screening right away if you observe changes in the size or color of skin markings or growths, or sores that do not heal properly.
